Electrical Controls PE

Responsibilities:

· Design electrical, instrumentation, and control systems

· Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure all project requirements are incorporated into the design

· Develop electrical one-line diagrams, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and I/O schedules

· Interpret and develop P&IDs and control narratives

· Design PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial networking systems

· Review and seal engineering documents as required

· Coordinate with project managers, clients, equipment vendors, and contractors

· Perform field investigations, site visits, startup support, and troubleshooting when required

· Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to controls engineers, draftsmen, and panel building technicians

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution

· Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering in Tennessee and Georgia.

· Minimum 3 years of electrical design experience in industrial or municipal environments

· Strong understanding of PLC control systems and industrial automation in various platforms

· Ability to interpret and develop P&IDs, control narratives, and process flow diagrams

· Experience designing industrial control panels and associated wiring systems

· Ability to review project specifications and identify technical, contractual, and code compliance requirements

· Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL, ISA, and industry standards

· Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and/or similar design software

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

· PE license in Alabama, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Virginia

· Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, GE, and similar PLC platforms

· Experience with SCADA, HMI, instrumentation, and telemetry systems

· Experience performing power distribution design, short-circuit studies, and arc flash analysis

· NCEES record and ability to obtain additional state licenses

· Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities
